The Macomb County Reference & Research Center law collection includes the annotated
statutes and appellate court decisions of all fifty states and
the United States federal system. We also have the best
level Westlaw legal database, provided free of charge for in-library
use. The Macomb County
Reference & Research Center also has
books about legal topics for non-lawyers, students, and the
general public. These cover wills, trusts, landlord-tenant
law, divorce, child custody, taxation, citizenship, and many
other areas. Additionally, the library has a variety of
legal forms. Many of these materials can be checked out.
Our reference librarians can help to guide
you to our legal materials and help understand the
process of legal research. However, librarians cannot give
legal advice, interpret the law or answer questions about legal
matters.

Remember
that any website that has thorough "annotations"
(summaries of court decisions interpreting statutes and rules)
costs money to view. The library has books and the Westlaw
database, with annotations, available for your in-library use,
without charge.
